Had a 20 ton load swing sideways last Tuesday and realized I'd been leveling my outriggers all wrong for 8 years
My operator buddy Dave watched me set up and pointed out I was using the bubble level on the outrigger pad instead of the cab's built in inclinometer. Has anyone else found out they were skipping a key step in their setup routine after years on the job?

Nope, same thing happened to me last year with my leveling.

Started doing the same thing @juliashah, felt like an idiot when a senior hand walked me through the correct way. Now I always double check the inclinometer before anything else, makes a world of difference.

Dude, same thing happened to me with my crane last year. I had been using a torpedo level on the pads for like five years, felt like a total goof when a foreman showed me the inclinometer on the dash. It's so obvious in hindsight but you just get stuck in your ways, you know?
