A veteran operator in Tacoma told me my load swing was too aggressive
He said I was overcorrecting with the trolley, which was making the hook dance. Now I make smaller, slower adjustments and the load settles way faster. Anyone have a different method for calming a swinging load?

Try looking at the load, not the hook.

Oh man, I learned that lesson the hard way too. I used to chase the swing like it was a runaway shopping cart, just making it worse. My old foreman called it "panic mode." Now I just nudge the trolley a tiny bit and wait a full second to see what happens. It feels lazy, but it works. Letting the crane do the work instead of fighting it.

That wait is key, but a full second can feel long with a heavy load. Sometimes a half second pause gives enough feedback without losing control. It's about finding the rhythm of that specific crane.
