Rant: the $12 neck strips beat my $40 towel setup and I'm still mad about it
I did a full color correction on a client named Dana last Tuesday at my chair in Columbus, and I set up two stations just to see which one held up better through a three hour session. My usual station had the big terry towel wrap around the shampoo bowl, and the other one had those thin disposable neck strips plus a cheap plastic cape. The strips won hands down. No soaked collar, no water running down her back, and cleanup took me 90 seconds flat with the towels I didn't even need. So what's the trick with those terry wraps anyway, am I just wrapping them wrong or is the throwaway stuff really the smarter play?
