I stopped giving itemized bids and my close rate went up, but I'm not sure I like why
Last month I tried something different on a kitchen remodel in Mesa and just handed the homeowner one lump number instead of breaking out labor and materials line by line. I closed 3 of the next 4 jobs, which is way better than my usual half, but two of those folks never asked a single question about what they were paying for. Now I can't tell if I'm winning because I got simpler or because people just don't want to see the math. Has anyone else tried flat pricing and felt weird about how easy it made things?
