Realized I was double-handling pallets of brick in the yard for 8 months
Last week I watched a new guy organize the material drops by job date instead of product type. Took me about 30 minutes of watching him to realize I was wasting an extra hour every morning digging through mismatched loads. Has anyone else had a moment where a fresh pair of eyes made you feel dumb?

Have you ever just wanted to kick your own butt for not seeing something so obvious earlier? I've been there, it's a sick feeling but at least you fixed it.

Was it really something you missed, or was it just that the timing wasn't right for you to see it yet? I spent six months chasing a bug in some code, turned out I had a typo in a config file from day one. Kept looking at the main logic, never thought to check the setup stuff. That's what gets me most, the stuff that's literally staring you in the face but your brain just refuses to register it until you're ready.
