Everybody swears by just-in-time delivery. I think it's a trap.
Worked a big project in Denver last year. We did JIT for all our drywall. One truck got stuck in traffic, whole crew sat idle for 4 hours. Cost us $1,200 in labor that day alone. From then on I ordered a small buffer stock myself. Kept it in a storage container on site. Sales rep called me wasteful. But we never missed another schedule. Does anyone else keep a hidden stash of materials just to cover the inevitable delays?

Is it really a secret stash if my wife finds all of mine in the garage? JIT is great until the universe decides you need a reminder that you're not actually in control.

Does finding his stash mean she's actually the one in control now?
