A crane operator told me my tagline placement was lazy. He was right.

I ran a small crew doing steel erection in Boise for 8 years. Always set my taglines at the same mid-point on the load. Thought it was fine. Then a veteran operator, 30 years on tower cranes, watched me on a job last month. He said, "You're fighting the swing every time. Move the tagline to the far end. Let the load lead." I switched it on the next pick. Night and day. Less muscle, cleaner landing. Felt stupid for not seeing it sooner. Anyone else get that one piece of advice that made them redo a basic habit?
