Someone told me my moon landing posts were just repeating old stuff

Got a comment last week saying I kept posting the same Apollo 11 arguments from 2010 forums. They linked three better sources. Changed my whole approach. Now I check dates on everything before I post. Spent two hours yesterday finding a 2023 radar study of the landing sites. Makes a way stronger case. Anyone else get called out for using outdated info?

That "check dates on everything" step is huge. I got burned on a thread about old processors. Now I sort any search by "past year" first. It takes longer but finding that recent radar study you mentioned is exactly the payoff.

Honestly, sometimes the old arguments are still solid though! @mark_hayes, those processor specs from 2015 still run plenty of modern stuff just fine.

Remember my old laptop from college, the one with a 2013 chip? Jenkin's point about old specs hits home because I finally retired that thing last month. It could still handle basic web work and documents, but the fan sounded like a jet engine trying to open a modern spreadsheet. There's a real comfort in using gear until it truly gives up, even if you miss out on some speed. You just learn to work around the limits while it lasts.
