A finisher in Cincinnati told me my trowel angle was wrong on a 4,000 sq ft pour
Two summers back I was working a big warehouse slab outside Cincinnati and I thought I had my finish dialed in. Been doing this 11 seasons so I figured I knew it all. This old finisher named Ray watched me burn the first section and just shook his head and said my trowel was laying too flat on the first pass. I was mad at first, like who is this guy telling me. But he had me lift the back edge up more so only the front third was touching. Next pass the cream came up way cleaner and I didn't get that wavy look I kept fighting before. Now I keep that angle in my head on every big pour and my edges come out way tighter. Still bugs me I poured like that for so long without anyone saying anything. Any of you ever get called out on your angle or blade speed and did it actually help?
