Laid a pipeline in 40 feet of silt last week and an old timer tore apart my lift bag setup
He told me my straps were too loose and I was asking for a blowout on the up. Changed how I rig everything now even on shallow jobs where I thought it didn't matter. Anyone else get humbled by a simple rigging tweak that saved them gear?

40 feet of silt? That's wild. I mean, I've worked in some nasty mud but 40 feet sounds like you're practically floating the pipe. How do you even get a feel for the bottom in that stuff? I gotta ask, were you using like a standard lift bag or one of those bigger commercial ones? The loose straps part makes my stomach drop just thinking about it.

Makes you wonder how many things we all just kind of wing it on, right? Like, half the time we're all just trying not to mess up while hoping nobody notices the straps are loose.
