Blew my lift bag at 90 feet in the Gulf, now I double-check every valve
I was doing a salvage job off Galveston last month and that rubber bag tore right at the seam, sending my basket up before I could grab it. It cost me 4 hours of rework, but it convinced me that old gear is false economy, so I switched to a newer bag with metal fittings. Anyone else had a dump valve seize up on them at depth?

Damn, 90 feet is no joke. That bag shot up with your whole basket and you just watched it go? I'd have been screaming underwater, probably would have swallowed half my regulator. That seam tearing at depth is my worst nightmare, I always picture it happening right when I'm not looking. And yeah, dump valves sticking is a whole other beast, had one freeze on me once in cold water and I thought I was gonna have to cut the whole rig loose. New gear might cost more, but getting your basket back without a fight is worth every penny.
