Switched to a $12 scale last month because that 18 gram scoop turned a $6 bag of Ethiopian beans into something that tasted like burnt regret, has anyone else found measuring by weight beats scooping for pour over?

That "burnt regret" line hit me hard, I know exactly what you mean. It's funny how once you start measuring one thing, you start noticing all the other places you've been guessing. Like I used to just throw spaghetti in boiling water, now I weigh it too because my grandma always said my portions were way off. Same with salt in my chili, used to be a pinch here and there, now it's a teaspoon and it actually tastes consistent every time. Weird how our hands just aren't as reliable as we think they are.
