Tried doing a full coding bootcamp in 8 weeks and it backfired hard
I signed up for this intensive JavaScript bootcamp back in March thinking I'd be job ready by May. After week 3 I was completely lost because they flew through the basics like variables and loops in just 4 days. What I learned is that cramming doesn't work for coding, you need time to let the concepts sink in. By week 6 I had to drop out and start over with a slower Udemy course that took 4 months. Has anyone else found a similar gap between bootcamp promises and reality?

My buddy quit his bootcamp after two weeks for the same reason.

Bootcamps are a specific kind of pressure cooker, but two weeks seems super quick to tap out. Maybe he just wasn't ready for that learning style or had unrealistic expectations going in? What made him think it wasn't for him?

Wait wait wait, hold up - they covered variables AND loops in FOUR DAYS? @cora863 that's not a pressure cooker, that's a pressure bomb with no release valve lol. Like imagine someone teaching you how to boil water and then expecting you to cook a five course meal by Friday. No wonder he tapped out after two weeks, that pace is nuts for anyone who's not already half a developer.
