A bootcamp mentor said my code worked but read like a ransom note, so I changed one thing
Honestly, I was three weeks into a beginners bootcamp in Chicago when my mentor looked at my project and said my variable names were all over the place. I had stuff like x, temp2, and thingFinal, which made perfect sense to me at 1am but not to anyone else. She said if I came back to that code in two weeks I would not know what half of it did. Ngl that stung but she was right. I started naming everything in plain English like userScore and totalPrice instead of weird short forms. My next project had zero comments and she said she could still follow all of it. Has anyone else had a mentor give them a note that felt harsh but actually fixed a bad habit?
