The night shift lead at the Muskegon shop saved me 45 minutes with one Sharpie mark
I was setting up a run of 60 aluminum brackets and kept re-probing the fixture because my zeros felt off. Dave, the night lead, walked over and drew a line across the vise jaw and the part with a Sharpie so I could see the slip at a glance instead of trusting the numbers. Turned out I had been tightening the vise unevenly and lifting the part about .008 every time. Now I mark the jaw on anything that gets pulled and re-clamped, but I'm wondering if anyone has a better trick for spotting jaw lift on soft aluminum.
