Ran a finish pass with the wrong insert for six months straight before a journeyman caught it.

I was getting this weird chatter on 316 stainless parts for a medical job and the old guy down the line just looked at my tool and said 'that's a roughing insert, kid' and it clicked immediately, has anyone else had a tooling setup screwup that took way too long to figure out?

A WHOLE YEAR? How did the box not tip you off?

Oh man, that is painfully relatable! I spent almost a year thinking my boring bar was just garbage, then my lead man pointed out I had the wrong size insert. Felt like such a dummy when it clicked.
