Bought a used Kurt vise off FB Marketplace for $450 and found the ways were ground down
Seller told me it was barely used but I put an indicator on it and the jaw lift was .008 on one side. Had to eat the cost and buy new anyway so I'm out $450 plus two hours of driving to New Braunfels. Anybody got a good way to check a vise before handing over cash?

Jaw lift isn't from the ways being ground, that's a different issue.
