My solar installer called out my shade math, fixed my whole system output

Last fall I got a quote for 16 panels on my roof in Tucson. The sales guy swore I'd get 80% offset. My installer actually walked the yard with a shade tool and said I was getting maybe 60% because of the mesquite tree on the west side. He trimmed the tree and moved two panels to the garage roof. Now I'm at 74% offset after 5 months of data. Has anyone else had an installer push back on their own sales team's numbers?
