I finally saw how glacier retreat is changing hiking trails in the Alps
The trail markers had to be moved way up the slope, which really drove home how fast the ice is going.

Check the latest trail maps before you go, since the old routes are totally off now. I had to scramble up a new path last year when my usual marker was gone, and it sucked lol. The rockfall gets really bad with less ice holding things together, so watch your step up there. It's nuts how different it looks each season.
