Boss is canceling our remote days, claims it's for team spirit. I call climate foul.
Management says a shared space uses less energy per person, but I see more traffic and higher home heating when we're all in. Which side has the better argument for cutting carbon?

Roseb15's car idling point is valid, but a full office can run its heating and cooling way more efficiently than a bunch of half-empty houses. Central systems in a busy building often waste less per person than individual homes, especially if folks live close by. So the boss's team spirit push might accidentally have a climate upside too.

Wait, @hunt.sage, are we really calling a boss forcing a commute a win for the planet?

You called climate foul and you're right. My old hospital tried that "shared space saves energy" line when cutting remote admin days. They forgot to count all the idling cars in the parking garage, the extra AC blasting in summer because the building was full. One empty office floor uses way less than 50 homes heating just the rooms people are in. Bosses always look at the building bill, not the bigger picture.
