A guy at the hardware store in Reno said skip the fancy compost bin and just use a pile
I was about to drop $180 on one of those tumblers last spring because my kitchen scraps were piling up. The older guy at the counter in Reno said to just build a pile in the corner of the yard and turn it once a week with a pitchfork. I figured he was wrong and it would stink, but six months later I've got dark soil underneath and no smell at all. My $30 pitchfork is doing the same job as the tumbler. Has anyone else had a store employee talk them out of spending money like that?
