Found a 1910 manual at a yard sale that changed how I sweep
Picked up an old chimney sweep guide from a seller outside Boise for $4, and it had a chart showing soot buildup rates by wood type, which I never thought to track. Turns out pine creates about twice the creosote of oak per cord, so now I'm charging different rates for pine-heavy customers. Has anyone else tried adjusting their pricing based on wood species or is that too much guesswork?
