PSA: My old way of peeling garlic was a total joke
I used to smash each clove with a can, which took forever and left bits of paper everywhere. After a stage in Chicago where a cook showed me the shake-in-a-bowl trick, I can do a whole head in about 30 seconds. What's your fastest garlic prep method?

Oh, that shake method is a total game changer. I use a small metal bowl with a matching lid, give it a really good shake for maybe ten seconds. The cloves come out completely clean, no knife needed. It works even better if the garlic is a bit older and drier. I'll have to try that freezing tip next time.

My grandma's trick. Freeze the whole head for 20 minutes first. The peel just slides right off every clove.
