Question about handling long-distance installs these days

I mean, idk, I was thinking about that time I drove to Dallas for a week-long install. It used to be that we'd have to coordinate everything over payphones and paper maps. Now, you can video call the client from the road and show them samples on your phone. Maybe it's just me, but the old way felt more personal, even if it was harder. Still, not having to get lost all the time is a big help.

What exactly made it feel more personal back then? Was it just the extra face time, or something else?

Coordinating in person just made the whole process smoother back in the day.

You said it felt more personal - was that from shared struggle?
