Finally got the hang of that tricky stair nosing transition

For months, my finish on the bullnose where the carpet met the hardwood was always a little wavy. Watched a video from a guy in Denver who said to use a 3-inch putty knife to press the carpet into the track before trimming. Tried it on a job yesterday and the line is razor straight. Anyone else have a go-to trick for those tight transitions?

The cussing was just my warm-up for the hammer throwing.

@hayes.joel had the right idea - cussing is just part of the process. What nobody talks about is how the grip on the hammer matters just as much as the warm-up routine. Spend a few rounds yelling and your hands get too sweaty for a good throw.
