Digital angle finder I bought on a whim saved my butt on a stair job

I had a set of stringers to lay out for a basement remodel last month. Old school method with framing square and stops has always worked for me. But the layout had some weird angles where the stairs turned. My buddy John said try his digital angle finder. I thought it was a gadget thing. Borrowed it and honestly it cut my layout time in half. The thing read to a tenth of a degree and I matched it perfect on the saw. Now I gotta get my own. Anyone use one regularly for stair work?

Check those calibrations first - mine was off a full degree out of the box

Oh man that reminds me of a time I was framing a deck and the stringers just would not line up. My neighbor came over and handed me one of those angle finders. I spent like 20 minutes fiddling with my square and getting more and more frustrated before he just showed me the digital readout. Felt like I was cheating but man it was so much easier. Anyway yeah they're great for those weird stair turns.
