My old boss at the tire shop in Tulsa said one thing that still helps me in interviews
He told me during my exit chat in 2019 that most people talk about what they did, but the ones who get hired talk about what went wrong and how they fixed it. I sat with that for a while because I always thought you had to sound perfect. Now I go into every interview with one story about a screw up, like the time I mixed up two orders and had to call a customer and make it right. Does anyone else lead with a mistake story, or is that too much of a risk with some hiring managers?
