Car cover versus garage parking, which one actually wins?
I stored my truck outside with a $120 cover all winter in Buffalo, then moved it into my buddy's garage for the spring. The cover left micro scratches from wind rubbing, but the garage kept it dust free and dry. Anyone else see better results with covered parking over using a car cover?
Swear I used to think covers were a total scam, figured the garage was the only way to go. But last summer I left my car under a cheap cover for two weeks while my garage was full of junk, and honestly it came out cleaner than when it sits in the garage. The cover caught all the pollen and bird droppings, so the paint stayed perfect. Garage parking is nice for sure, but for daily dust and sap, a decent cover actually does the heavy lifting. Micro scratches from wind rubbing sound like a fit problem more than a cover problem, maybe try a softer inner lining next time.
