I shipped my car to Phoenix with the tank half full and the guy said that's why it cost me $180 extra
Found out the hard way that shipping companies charge by weight, and a full tank of gas adds about 100 lbs, which bumped my quote from $850 to $1,030. I always thought filling up before a haul was smart so the driver wouldn't have to stop, turns out you want it near empty. Anyone else get hit with a weight surcharge they never saw coming?

Half full cost you 180 bucks? That's not weight, that's them making up fees.
