I'd been strapping cars down for haulers for about 2 years and always ran the front straps to the rear tie down points because that's how the first guy who showed me did it. He walked up while I was ratcheting, pointed at the axle and said the car rides like that. Turns out I'd been pulling my straps against the suspension travel and wearing out the hooks, and one snapped on a run to Laredo in March. He showed me the right way in about 90 seconds and I felt like a idiot. Any of you learn tie down points wrong from whoever trained you?
