Ditched my old three-season tent for a hammock setup last spring

I used to fight with tent poles and wet ground on every trip. Switched to a hammock with a bug net and tarp after a rainy night in Shenandoah left me sleeping in a puddle. Anyone else made the jump and dealt with finding good trees?

The puddle thing hit home. Finding good trees is my constant struggle too.

Oh totally! It's funny how the smallest things (like finding the right tree, or a spot that's actually dry) can just make or break your whole day out. I swear, @gibson.sarah, it's like the universe has a secret list of "good spots" and it's always testing us to find them. It's part of that bigger pattern I notice everywhere - you know, how we're all just trying to hunt down these little bits of comfort in a world that's pretty messy most of the time. Whether it's a good parking spot at the grocery store or a quiet bench in a park, those little wins feel huge when you find them.
