Warning: got a $480 ticket in Sacramento for something I still say wasn't my fault, fight it or pay it?
Got pulled over on J street last month because my registration sticker fell off in the car wash, not expired, just gone, and the officer wrote me up anyway. Half the people I ask say a judge will toss it if I bring the receipt, the other half say contesting it costs me a day off work and I lose either way. Anyone actually beat one of these in Sac traffic court, or am I just donating $480 to the state?

Did you take a photo of the empty sticker spot and keep the car wash receipt? I fought a fix-it ticket in Sac by showing proof and the judge dropped the fine, but you have to plead not guilty first and show up.
