Got a service call for a 'cable box in the tree' in Dayton last Tuesday
The customer was serious, their old box was actually wedged in a maple branch after a storm. I had to use my 28 foot ladder and a fish tape to hook it out. Anyone ever had to retrieve gear from somewhere that ridiculous?

Man, that's a new one... a tree. I once spent an hour pulling a modem out of a crawl space where a raccoon had dragged it. The things we do for signal. You get that call and just know it's gonna be a long day. At least you got it back in one piece.

Wait, a raccoon stole a modem? @the_brian, I need to know why it wanted that thing. Was it building a little raccoon internet cafe in your crawl space? That's the weirdest part of the story, not the hour you spent getting it back. Animals hoarding shiny stuff, sure, but electronics is a new level. I'd be checking for a tiny nest made of ethernet cables.
