Pro tip: My scrap bin hit exactly 500 pounds and it made me rethink every cut I make
I keep a bin under my table saw for offcuts and finally weighed it at the shop in Boise, and it came out to 500 pounds on the nose. That's about $300 worth of maple and walnut I turned into sawdust and tiny blocks over 6 months. The part that got me was finding a 4 foot piece of 8/4 cherry buried in there that I could have used for a drawer front. Now I sort scraps into three bins by size before anything hits the floor. Anyone else weigh their scrap, or am I the only weirdo doing this?
