I'll say it: laminate beats solid wood for kitchen cabinets
I mean, idk, maybe it's just me but I've been doing this for fifteen years and laminate gets so much hate. Clients always ask for real wood like it's some holy grail, but then they complain about scratches and water damage. Laminate is tough, easy to clean, and looks great if you install it right. I did a big kitchen last year with high gloss laminate, and the owner said it still looks new after daily use. Solid wood would have needed oiling and care by now. But try telling that to someone who thinks wood is 'authentic'. It's frustrating when people dismiss laminate without even seeing good samples. I swear, half the cabinetmakers out there are just following old trends.

Ugh, this happens with so many things! People chase the "authentic" label even when it's worse for daily life.

Last summer, I got really into sourdough bread because it seemed more real. But feeding the starter every day was a pain and the bread was often too dense. I switched to a no-knead recipe with regular yeast that takes five minutes to mix. Now I get great bread without the hassle. It made me see that sometimes easy ways are just better for getting things done. Chasing what feels authentic can mess up your routine for no good reason.

Yeah the "more real" part gets me. Like, is a sourdough starter more real than a yeast packet? They're both just fungus doing their thing.
