Caught between a cheap deal and my conscience on a cabinet job

The client's wood supplier seems sketchy, but the savings are huge. This feels like a moral gray area to me.

Ask if the "sketchy supplier" runs a 24-hour delivery service from the local forest. Saving money sounds great until you're explaining to a cop where your "discount" oak really came from. Maybe just save the receipt instead of your soul.

Tbh, after that "explaining to a cop" line, I remembered a news story about busted lumber suppliers.

Saw that story too. Half those busts are just permit paperwork issues. Most of those guys are just trying to cut out the middleman, not steal trees.
