Picked a small firm over a big one for my disability case
I had to choose between a solo lawyer who returned my calls in an hour and a big firm that took 3 days. Went with the solo guy and won my case in 8 months, but he missed a deadline for one form and we had to refile. Has anyone else gotten better results with a smaller practice?

Big firm takes 3 days to call back but probably has a whole team to catch missed deadlines. Solo guy answers fast but lets paperwork slip through the cracks. Sounds like you got the worst of both worlds honestly. Still won though so who cares about one extra form.

Ended up going with a solo lawyer myself after the third big firm dropped the ball on a callback. He answered his phone at 9pm on a Sunday once, but yeah I had to chase him down for a filing receipt later. Still got the case settled so the extra hassle felt worth it. Guess you pick your trade-offs.
