I was dead set against hiring a disability lawyer until the hearing in San Diego last Tuesday
I sat in that waiting room for three hours thinking I could handle my own appeal after the first denial, but then the judge asked me a question about my work history and I froze. A lawyer from the office next door had already walked me through what documents to bring and even drove to my house in Chula Vista to pick up my medical records. Has anyone else changed their mind about hiring help after seeing how fast a hearing can go sideways without someone who knows the rules?
