Appreciation post: That paralegal who actually answered my call in San Diego
I was stuck on hold with my lawyer's office for 45 minutes last Tuesday, frustrated and ready to give up. Then a paralegal named Maria picked up and walked me through the whole SSDI paperwork mess in 10 minutes flat. Has anyone else had a support staff member make or break their case experience?

Guess Maria should get a gold star for doing her job. Next thing you know we'll be throwing parades for cashiers who scan items correctly.

Whoa, slow down there. I mean, it's great you got help and all, but let's not act like a paralegal actually doing their job is some kind of miracle worker. Isn't that literally what they're paid for? I've been through the SSDI mess myself and yeah, it's a nightmare, but one helpful call doesn't exactly make or break the whole experience. Your mileage may vary, but I've had good ones and bad ones, and in the end it's still a pile of paperwork and waiting. Take this with a grain of salt, but I think we're setting the bar pretty low if a 10 minute phone call is a life changing event.
