Vent: my neighbor Deb says scraping burnt toast is wasteful and honestly she's wrong
Deb from 4B caught me over the sink on Tuesday scraping the black off two slices with a butter knife after my toaster decided to cremate them, and she told me I should just toss them because burnt food is ruined food. I get where she's coming from, but a light scrape plus butter and I can't even tell the difference, and that loaf cost me $4.50 so no way I'm pitching it. The people who say you have to start over every time are the same ones who buy new pans instead of scrubbing them. Does anyone else save half-burnt toast, or am I the weird one on this block?
