My dad's advice about tailgaters finally clicked after 12 years
He always said a 3-second gap is just one Mississippi too short for the guy in the box truck behind you, and sure enough last Tuesday on I-5 that rule kept me from rear-ending a Prius when the whole line slammed to a stop, has anyone else had an old timer's warning prove out in the worst way?

Man, that's one of those things you hear a thousand times and just nod along, then one day you're gripping the wheel and it all makes sense. Glad that rule saved you from that mess, seriously. Tailgaters are the worst, but that old school advice is gold.
