I finally started leaving 10 minutes early after a pileup on I-95 near exit 27
Got stuck for 2 hours behind a 5 car wreck last Tuesday and watched everybody ahead of me just sit there with no way around. Now I leave at 6:40 instead of 6:50, but is there a better route through that stretch or am I just stuck with it?

I heard on a local traffic podcast that leaving earlier only helps so much because the bottleneck at exit 27 is the merge itself, not the volume. So yeah, 10 minutes might buy you a little room but the wreck will still back things up either way. Have you tried hopping off at the exit before and cutting through the back roads?
