Color coding my weekly log by theme fixed my scattered brain

I kept flipping back through my weekly spreads trying to find where I'd written down a client's deadline or a doctor's appointment. Highlighting everything in one color just made it a blur. So last Sunday I assigned a different highlighter color per category, work gets blue, personal stuff gets green, bills get yellow. Now I can scan a whole week in about 20 seconds and spot what's urgent without reading every single line. Has anyone else tried a color system that actually stuck for them?

it was actually in this productivity podcast i listen to sometimes, they had some therapist on talking about how our brains latch onto colors faster than words. something about the visual cortex being quicker than the language part. made total sense when they explained it, we scan for the yellow splotch before we even read the word overdue. that's why just assigning categories works better than trying to remember what page you wrote something on. i tried the same thing a while back but i went overboard, like 15 colors for every little thing and it got messy real fast. now i just stick to three or four and it's way easier to keep up with. good on you for finding something that clicks.
