Why does nobody talk about how cheap street food in Oaxaca actually is
I always assumed eating well in Oaxaca meant dropping $15 to $20 a meal at sit down spots, but last week I counted up my food spending and it came to $47 for six days. The tlayuda stand near the zocalo charged me 35 pesos, which is about $2, and the portions were huge. A vendor named Rosa at the Mercado Benito Juarez sold me a full plate of mole with rice for 50 pesos, and I ate there three times. Has anyone else been somewhere that totally flipped what you thought a food budget had to be?
