Vent: Got scammed by a 'budget' hostel in Barcelona last month
I booked this place for 18 euros a night on Hostelworld. Looked fine in the photos, right? Showed up and the 'air conditioning' was just a broken fan in the hallway. The 'free breakfast' was a stale bread roll and some tap water. I ended up spending another 30 euros a night at a proper hostel two blocks away. Has anyone else had a listing completely lie about what they offer?

18 euros a night and they called stale bread with tap water a "free breakfast"? I would've lost my mind. Did they at least have the decency to put the bread on a plate or was it just handed to you in a bag? I swear some of these places think we're idiots who'll accept anything. The fake air conditioning is the real kicker though, a broken fan in the hallway doesn't cool your room. That's just insulting.
