The bus pass epiphany in Prague after 4 years of solo trips

I used to always buy those 72 hour city passes for like 20 bucks every time I hit a new place. Then last spring in Prague I was waiting at a tram stop and this local guy showed me his annual card on his phone. Turns out most cities have a monthly or yearly transit pass that tourists can buy too. For what I spent on a 3 day pass, I could have gotten a whole month in Prague. Now I check the local transit website before I book anything and grab the cheapest multi day option that covers my dates. Anyone else feel dumb finding out about resident pricing after years of overpaying?

That seasonal pass tip works even better for folks who do the slow travel thing, I grabbed a 90 day one in Berlin for less than two weeks of daily tickets and used it for weekend beer runs to the suburbs.
