My pasta cooking hack in a hotel room went very wrong
I thought I was smart for cooking pasta in the hotel kettle to save cash. It worked until the kettle started smoking and set off the fire alarm. We all had to leave the building at 2 in the morning. The hotel made me pay a cleaning fee, and it was pricier than a good meal out. So much for saving money.

Yikes, that's a brutal learning experience. Getting everyone evacuated at 2am is the kind of story that haunts you forever. That cleaning fee adding insult to injury is just the worst part. We've all had those "this seems genius" ideas that backfire spectacularly.

Man, that 'seems genius' idea backfiring is so true, we've all been there lol. @jake_torres68, what exactly went down with the evacuation? Like, was it a fire alarm or something else? The cleaning fee on top of that must have felt like a kick when you're already down. How did you even begin to explain that to the guests? I'm curious if there was any way to avoid it or if it was just pure bad luck.
