Got roasted on a forum for staying at $200 hotels
Back in 2017 someone told me I was wasting money on motels when Hostelworld had beds for $18 a night in Barcelona, so I tried it and saved like $400 over a week. Has anyone else had their travel budget wrecked by someone calling them out on a choice?

no joke @sean782, i stayed at a cheap motel once and woke up with bites all over my arms. those budget mattresses are basically bug hotels lol. i swear i saw one crawling on the headboard in the morning light. never again, i check every seam and corner now before i even sit down.
