Got burned booking a bus in Mexico City, now I check the terminal number twice

Last month I was in CDMX and booked a bus to Oaxaca online for what I thought was the north terminal. Showed up at 7am with my backpack and the counter lady just laughed. Turns out there are like 4 different terminals and my ticket said Terminal Sur but I was at Terminal Norte. Missed the bus and had to drop another $30 on a new ticket plus a $15 cab across the city. Now I always google the route number and the terminal code before I pay for anything, even if the site looks official. Anyone else had bus station mixups in big cities that cost them extra? How do you double check before you book?
