The $2 bag of bruised peppers at the Saturday market in Reno changed my whole meal plan
I was at the Saturday market in Reno two weeks back and a vendor had a crate of soft bell peppers marked down to $2 for the whole bag. I almost walked past them because they looked rough, but he said they were just a day past pretty and fine for cooking. I took them home, chopped them up, and froze half, then made a big pot of chili with the rest that fed us for three dinners. Now I check the discount crate first before I even look at the nice stuff, because those peppers cost less than one fancy one at the store. Does anyone else hit up the reduced produce bin at their market and have a go-to meal for whatever's in there?
